Week 5 : 24.9.2021
For Task 2, we were asked to choose a moment where it was very memorable. As for me, it was the latest update of Genshin Impact and there was a new Story quest which touched me and made me cry.

At first I felt it was too difficult to use their original art to animate it frame by frame and I went and try out the silhouette of their design
After that I realized that her Pyro form has to much elements which will not turn out great in silhouette. Based on my Task 1, I learned a bit of pixel art and so I went to create a pixel art for both of their form

To create the animation, my first idea was to transition from cryo to pyro by burning the page. Since, my poster is 8-bit art, I research on pixelated fire and this is the example I took to create my fire from Youtube :

This is the output of my poster. However, the Task requires a logline to describe the moment without spoiling the story. So I chose "CRIMSON WITCH" which is a label of her story

My lecturers suggest that I should indicate Genshin Impact somewhere in my poster so I created it in the last version

Week 5 : 24.9.2021
The topic for this week is Visual Techniques : Chiaroscuro, The use of light and dark to create the appearance of three-dimensional volume on a flat surface is known as chiaroscuro.

Why are Chiaroscuro used?
- It increases DRAMATIC tension
- It creates a SENSATIONAL effect
- To pull your attention to a subject in an INTENSE way
- To create a tasteful composition of NEGATIVE VS POSITIVE spaces

Task 2: decisive moment

The story of the Lady Signora or the Crimson Witch was so touching that the Genshin community was in an uproar ***SPOILERS*** when she was killed by out Electro Mommy Raiden Shogun. The background story on how a Maiden became a Witch was so emotional that I chose this as my Moment for Task 2
I wanted to create a GIF where La Signora transforms from Cryo to Pyro.

I felt that the poster was a little plain and not everyone plays Genshin Impact. So I added their pixelated elements onto their poster.
